Attendance & leave

Check in daily, fix attendance with regularization requests, apply for leave against your balance, and approve your team's requests — with LogAI's exact day-counting and approval rules.

Attendance and leave are the daily heartbeat of the HR module. Both are self-service — your account must be linked to an employee profile — and both route approvals to your direct manager or an org admin.

Apply for leave

  1. Open HR → Leave. Your balance cards show each policy's remaining days — “X / Y days available”. Click Apply for Leave.
  2. Fill the request. Pick the Policy, Start date, and End date, plus an optional reason. The sheet shows your remaining balance as you go.
  3. Submit. The request appears in Request History as Pending and your manager is notified. Days are deducted from your balance only on approval.

How leave days are counted: Requested days = every calendar day from start to end inclusive, minus company holidays in the range. Weekends are not excluded automatically. You can't overlap an existing pending/approved request or exceed your balance for that year.

“No leave balances found”?: You can only apply once HR has seeded a balance for that policy and year — see HR administration for how admins seed balances.

Check in daily

Check-in lives on HR → Attendance → My Attendance (not the dashboard): the Mark attendance card comes prefilled with today's date, status Present, and the current time — click Check-in. One record exists per day; re-submitting the same date updates it. Statuses: Present, Absent, Half day, On leave.

Fix a missed or wrong entry

Use the Regularizations tab → New Request: pick the attendance record, set the requested status and in/out times, give a reason (required), and submit. Your manager or HR approves or rejects it — approval applies the correction automatically. This is also the only way to record a check-out time yourself.

For managers and admins

  • Leave → Team Requests — approve or reject pending requests (approval re-checks the balance and deducts days). Only the employee's direct manager or an org admin can decide.
  • Attendance → Team Attendance — your reports' records, with a Source column showing self-marked vs HR-entered entries.
  • Attendance → Regularizations — all pending correction requests with one-click approve/reject.
  • Leave policies, holidays, and shifts are configured in HR administration; payroll counts approved leave as present — see Payroll & payslips.

Frequently asked questions

How do I check in for the day?

HR → Attendance → My Attendance: the Mark attendance card is prefilled with today, Present, and the current time — click Check-in. There's no check-in button on the dashboard.

I forgot to check in yesterday — how do I fix it?

Attendance → Regularizations → New Request: pick the record, set the requested status and in/out times, give a reason, and submit for approval.

Why can't I apply for leave?

You need an active leave policy and a balance seeded for that policy and year. Overlapping an existing request or exceeding your balance also blocks submission — the error says exactly which.

Do weekends and holidays count against my leave?

Company holidays in the range are excluded; weekends are not. Days count calendar-inclusive and are deducted only when the request is approved.

Who approves my leave?

Your direct manager or an org admin, from Leave → Team Requests. Approval deducts the days; rejection leaves your balance untouched.

Can I edit an attendance record HR created for me?

No — you can only modify records you created yourself. Submit a regularization request instead.

Does approved leave affect my salary?

Approved leave days count as present in the payroll calculation, so taking approved leave doesn't reduce your pay.
