Two-factor authentication (2FA)
Add a second layer of security to your LogAI account with authenticator-app 2FA: setup with QR code, signing in with 6-digit codes, backup codes, and recovering access if you lose your device.

Two-factor authentication (2FA) protects your LogAI account with a rotating 6-digit code from an authenticator app — so a stolen password alone isn't enough to sign in. LogAI works with any TOTP authenticator: Google Authenticator, Authy, 1Password, Microsoft Authenticator, and others.
Enable 2FA
You can enable 2FA right after signing up (the Secure your new account prompt) or any time later from your security settings. Either way, the steps are the same:
- Start setup. Choose Set up two-factor authentication. LogAI generates your personal QR code and secret key.
- Scan the QR code. Open your authenticator app and scan the code — the account appears under the issuer LogAI. Can't scan? Copy the
SECRET KEYand add it manually. - Confirm with a code. Type the current 6-digit code from the app into
AUTHENTICATOR CODEand clickEnable 2FA. Codes rotate every 30 seconds; a code from the neighboring 30-second window is accepted, so small clock drift is fine. - Save your backup codes. You get 10 single-use backup codes (8 characters each). They're shown exactly once — copy them somewhere safe, like a password manager. Then click
Continue to your account.
Enabling 2FA signs out all sessions: For security, activating 2FA invalidates every existing session on your account — including the current one. Sign in again with your password plus a 6-digit code.
Signing in with 2FA
After entering your password, a Two-Factor Authentication panel asks for the 6-digit code from your app. You have 5 minutes on this screen; take longer and you'll see “Verification session has expired. Please log in again.” — just start over. A wrong or stale code shows “Invalid or expired code. Please try again.” — wait for a fresh code and retry.
Lost your device? Use a backup code
- Switch to backup entry. On the 2FA screen, click Don't have your authenticator app? Use a backup code instead.
- Enter a saved code. Type one of your 8-character backup codes and click
Verify & Sign In. Each code works exactly once and is consumed on use. - Regenerate a fresh set. After signing in with a backup code, go to your security settings and regenerate backup codes — you'll get 10 new ones, and all old codes stop working.

Frequently asked questions
Which authenticator apps work with LogAI?
Any TOTP-standard app: Google Authenticator, Authy, Microsoft Authenticator, 1Password, and similar. The LogAI account appears under the issuer name “LogAI”.
How many backup codes do I get?
10 single-use codes, 8 characters each, shown exactly once at setup. Regenerating from settings issues 10 new codes and permanently invalidates the old set.
Why was I signed out right after enabling 2FA?
That's by design — enabling 2FA invalidates all existing sessions so any device holding your old session must re-authenticate. Sign in again with your password and a 6-digit code.
My 2FA code keeps getting rejected. Why?
Codes rotate every 30 seconds — wait for a fresh one and type it promptly. LogAI tolerates one 30-second window of clock drift, so if it still fails, check that your phone's clock is set to automatic.
Is 2FA mandatory?
No, it's optional — but strongly recommended, especially for administrator accounts. You're offered setup at signup and can enable it any time from security settings.
What if I lose my phone and my backup codes?
