Tasks & time tracking
Plan and track work in LogAI: tasks in table or kanban board views, checklists, @mention comments, recurrence, auto-assignment, and a built-in timer that logs hours per task.

Collaboration → Tasks shows your work in a Table (a shareable, filterable URL with saved views) or a kanban Board grouped by status, priority, or assignee — with an All / Mine scope toggle and filters for status, priority, assignee, and due dates.
Create a task
- Click Add task. Give it a
Title(required) and a description — the AI sparkle can flesh it out. - Set the properties. Status (
To Do,In Progress,Snoozed,Completed,Not Completed), priority (Low→Urgent), assignee, and a label. - Schedule it. Start date, due date, an optional reminder, and recurrence (daily / weekly / monthly / yearly with an interval and end date).
Mark as milestonehighlights key tasks. - Create. The assignee is notified by email — and workflow automations with a task trigger can fire on creation.
Leave the assignee empty?: If your organization has task auto-assignment enabled (in organization settings), unassigned new tasks are distributed round-robin across the team; otherwise they're assigned to you.
The task details sidebar
Click any task to open its sidebar with four tabs:
- Details — inline edits to priority, status, assignee, and dates.
- Comments — threaded discussion with
@usernamementions that notify by email and in-app. - Checklist — auto-saving sub-items you can check off.
- Time — the built-in tracker (below).
Track time
On the Time tab, hit Start Timer — it becomes a red Stop button with a live clock. Every stopped session is saved under Logged sessions with the user, date, and duration, and feeds your organization's timesheet data. There's no limit on sessions per task, and each teammate's sessions are tracked separately.
Access
Viewing needs the Tasks permission (Viewer); creating and editing need Editor. Tasks also connect outward: workflows can create tasks automatically (e.g. a follow-up when a deal changes stage), and the xLog assistant can create tasks for you with one approval.
Frequently asked questions
How do I track time on a task?
Open the task, switch to the Time tab, click Start Timer, and Stop when done. Each session is logged with your name, the date, and the duration — feeding the organization's timesheet data.
What happens if I don't assign a task?
With auto-assignment enabled the task is distributed round-robin across teammates; otherwise it's assigned to you. The assignee is notified by email either way.
Can tasks repeat?
Yes — daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly, with a custom interval (e.g. every 2 weeks) and an until-date.
Do @mentions in comments notify people?
Yes — each mentioned teammate gets an in-app notification and an email (the comment author is excluded).
Can I share a filtered task view?
Yes — the table view is URL-driven, so your filters, sort, and search live in the address bar. Copy the URL or save it as a Saved View.
Can automations or the AI assistant create tasks?
Both — workflows can create tasks in response to events, and the xLog assistant creates tasks conversationally behind a confirmation card.
