Virtual try-on for your storefront

Let shoppers upload a photo and see your products on themselves. Turn on AI virtual try-on for your LogAI storefront, cap how often each customer can use it, and steer the result with global and per-category prompts.

Settings → Stores → Virtual Try-On turns on AI garment simulation for your online store. Shoppers upload a photo of themselves on a product page and get back an image of that product on them — generated with the same engine behind the AI Image Studio, and paid for out of your organization's AI credits.

Turn it on

  1. Flip the master switch. Open the Virtual Try-On tab and toggle it on. A status line tells you how many published storefronts it's active on — the store must be Live before shoppers can reach it.
  2. Set the customer quota. Reset Period (Day or Month) is the cycle, and Max Generations / Customer is how many try-ons each shopper gets in it. Setting it to 0 pauses try-on without switching the feature off.
  3. Choose how many variations. Images per Request decides how many results a single try-on click produces. More variations give the shopper choice and cost proportionally more credits.
  4. Save. Click Save Settings. Changes take effect on the live storefront immediately — no redeploy needed.

What it costs: Each generated image is charged to your organization's AI credit balance. A generation that fails is refunded automatically, and shoppers who hit their quota are told to come back next period rather than silently failing.

Steer the result with prompts

The optional system prompt on this tab is your global instruction to the generator — lighting, background, fabric behaviour, anything you want consistent across the catalog. For example: *“Generate realistic studio lighting, clean background, accurate fabric drape and texture.”*

Individual categories can override it. Editing a category shows an AI Virtual Try-On Prompt Override box (up to 8,000 characters) for guidance specific to that kind of product — fit notes for tailoring, drape rules for sarees, and so on. Child categories inherit their parent's override unless they set their own, and anything left empty falls back to the global prompt.

Prompt resolution order: The category's own prompt wins; if it has none, LogAI walks up the parent chain; if nothing is found there, the store-wide system prompt is used. Set the general rules globally and reserve category overrides for genuine differences.

Getting good results

  • Use clean product images — the try-on works from your catalog photos, so a well-lit, uncluttered product image makes a far better simulation.
  • Group similar products under a category with its own prompt rather than trying to cover every case globally.
  • Start with a small quota (a few per customer per day) while you watch credit usage, then raise it.
  • Publish the storefront first — try-on is a live-store feature; a store still building or archived can't serve it.

Access

The Virtual Try-On tab lives under Settings → Stores and needs the Ecom Store permission — Viewer to see the configuration, Editor to change it. Generations draw on the organization-wide AI credit balance shared with the rest of AI Studio.

Frequently asked questions

Where do shoppers find virtual try-on?

On product pages of your published storefront, once the feature is enabled. The store has to be Live — a store still provisioning, building or archived can't serve try-on.

How do I stop it temporarily without losing my settings?

Set Max Generations / Customer to 0. Try-on pauses while everything else — prompts, period, variations — stays exactly as configured.

What does it cost?

Each generated image is deducted from your organization's AI credits, and failed generations are refunded. Raising Images per Request multiplies the cost of every try-on click.

Can different product types get different instructions?

Yes — each category has an AI Virtual Try-On Prompt Override. It applies to products in that category and is inherited by its child categories unless they set their own.

Is there a limit per shopper?

Yes — Max Generations / Customer within the Reset Period you choose (Day or Month). The count resets automatically at the start of each period.
