Team chat
Message your team in LogAI: direct messages and group chats with reactions, editing, and forwarding — plus WhatsApp Business customer threads in the same inbox.

Collaboration → Chat brings your team's direct messages, group chats, and — when WhatsApp Business is connected — your WhatsApp customer threads into one screen, with filter pills (All / DM / Groups / WhatsApp) and unread badges.
Start a conversation
- Open Create Conversation. Click the new-chat icon in the Messages sidebar. Two tabs appear: Direct Message and Group Chat.
- DM or group. For a DM, pick one teammate and
Start DM(teammates you already chat with are hidden — the DM exists). For a group: name it (up to 40 characters), add an optional description, select members, andCreate Group. - Chat away.
Entersends,Shift+Enteradds a line. Attach any files with the paperclip, paste images straight from the clipboard, add emoji, or let the AI sparkle polish your message.
What you can do with messages
- React with emoji, reply in-line, edit, or delete your messages — with live read receipts and typing indicators.
- Forward one message, or long-press/select several and
Forward Selectedto any conversation. - Links preview automatically; you can dismiss the preview per message.
- Mute or archive any conversation from its row menu; archived chats collect under an
Archivedsection.
Group management
Only the group's creator can change the avatar, add members, edit the name/description, or transfer ownership. Members other than the owner can leave (the owner transfers ownership first); anyone can mute or archive for themselves.
WhatsApp threads are different: Conversations under the WhatsApp pill are real customer chats through your connected WhatsApp Business number — replies send to the customer, but reactions, editing, deleting, and forwarding aren't available there. Connect WhatsApp under Settings → Integrations.
Access
Chat needs its own permission — and uniquely, opening a conversation window requires Editor level; Viewer-only users see the list with a permission banner. Ask your admin via Roles & Permissions.
Frequently asked questions
Can I edit or unsend a chat message?
Yes — in DMs and group chats you can edit and delete your messages, plus react, reply, and forward. WhatsApp threads only support sending replies.
Who can change a group's name or avatar?
Only the group's creator — they can also add members and transfer ownership. Members other than the owner can leave; anyone can mute or archive the conversation for themselves.
What file types can I attach?
Any file type — via the paperclip or by pasting images directly from the clipboard. Multiple attachments per message are supported.
Why do WhatsApp chats appear here?
When your organization connects WhatsApp Business, customer conversations appear under the WhatsApp filter pill so your team replies without leaving LogAI. They also connect to leads — see the Leads guide.
Why can't I open a conversation even though I can see the chat list?
Opening the message window requires Editor level on the Chat permission — Viewer only shows the list. Ask your admin to raise your access.
Can I archive a chat without leaving it?
Yes — Archive Chat from the row menu hides it under the Archived section without leaving the conversation; unarchive any time. Muting silences notifications while staying in your list.
